Users can set preview images for Title and Media items that display in various ways when the item is referenced.
Preview images will display in horizontal, vertical, square aspect ratios, and in various sizes.
These preview images can be selected from either items in the Media Library, or from an external file from your computer.
Selecting internal Reference Media as a Preview Image
Users can choose to reference a master media file as the preview image for Media and Title items.
Because a master file is in the user's media library, any changes to the original will change the previews of the items that reference it.
Navigate to the Media or Title item and click the Images button to open the Images Tab.
Find the Use Reference Media slider and turn it on.
A Choose Media button appears in the tab area.
Click the Choose Media button to open the window to select the media file to use as a reference.
Check the box to the left of the media item to use.
Click the Accept button.
The image will now appear as the preview image in the Images interface.
Notice a horizontal display that shows the connection to the file in the media library.
Removing a Reference Media
To remove the connection between a title or media item and a Reference Media element, navigate to the item's Images tab.
Find the horizontal display that shows the connect element.
Click the trash can icon at the right of this display to remove the connection.
Click the Save button.
Selecting external images as Preview Images
Users can also select external images as to be used as a Title or Media item's preview images.
These images will not be added to Media Library in the Platform, so they will need to be modified or re-uploaded via the Images tab.
To add an external image as a Preview, navigate to the item's Images Tab and find the Choose File button.
After clicking the Choose File button, a operating system dialogue box will appear allowing you to select an image from your computer.
After selecting an image, the name will appear in the Image Preview Source field.
If that looks correct, click the Save button.
The image will appear in as the various preview images.
Editing Image Previews
To change the crop on any of the individual previews, click on the pencil or edit icon at the top right of the preview.
A window will open that allows you to change the crop of the image based on the original.
After finding the right crop, click the accept button.
From this window, you can also chose to pull in another file by clicking the Upload a File box. This will only impact this individual preview.
Replacing Image Previews
From the Images tab, you can also replace the master image, as well as choosing to regenerate preview images for all the versions.
To replace the master image, locate the Replace button on the top right of the Images pane.
If you'd like to replace all versions of the previews, make sure to select the Regenerate All Previews slider.
After pulling in the new image, click the Save button.
