You can link directly to any portion part of a page built using content blocks in the MediaStorm Platform.
This is handy if you want to include a media, interactive or informational item on a page rather than building a separate page for it, but also want users to be able to click to navigate to the item directly.
It is also handy for being able to build an index at the top of a page with links to the items on it.
Copying anchor links
Each block in a content area has a unique Block ID that allows it to be linked to directly.
To find an item's Block ID, navigate to the the content area, and if the item appears in a block expand it, and find that block.
In this example, we'll be using a Heading block.
Click on the pencil icon to open the block for editing.
The item's Block ID appears directly beneath the block type.
You can click the Copy URL to Clipboard link to automatically copy the link for pasting.
You'll know the link is in your clipboard when the link changes to a Copied notification.
Linking to the item
The link in the clipboard can now be used to link directly to that portion of the page.
In the example above, to link would go the Storytelling Ethos header.
When added to a browser bar, or when a use clicks a link, that portion of the page appears directly.
