When publishing to the Website or Player release endpoints, the MediaStorm Platform generates a collection of static files and uploads them to an Amazon Web Services S3 bucket for hosting. This allows Platform users to maintain direct control over their published content at all times. Before connecting your S3 bucket, some setup is required within the AWS management interface to prepare your account for hosting content generated by the Platform. Please follow our recommended guidelines for configuring AWS, depending on the types of Releases you intend to publish:
Note that you may connect as many individual S3 buckets as required to meet your organization's needs. When publishing a Release, you will have the opportunity to select which of your S3 buckets to publish to.
Once you have configured your AWS resources according to the instructions linked above, you are ready to grant the Platform access to your S3 bucket.
- Sign in to the MediaStorm Platform and visit the Integration Settings page at https://platform.mediastorm.com/settings/integrations/
- Click the button labeled "New Integration," and select "Amazon S3" from the list of services.
- Complete the form by entering the Access Key Id, Secret Access Key, Bucket Name, and Public URL generated during the AWS configuration process. If you have followed our recommended guidelines for configuring AWS, the Public URL is your CloudFront distribution's domain name, prefixed with "https://".
- Leave the "Path Prefix" field blank if you have followed our recommended configuration guidelines. This option is reserved for custom AWS configurations.
- Tick the box labeled "Use History API" to enable user-friendly URLs on your published Releases.
- Click "Submit."
The Platform is now set up for use with your S3 bucket. When publishing Releases, you will be able to select this bucket as the publish destination.
