PDF documents can be added to your Platform account as media items.
They are treated like other media items and can be displayed anywhere that media items can be.
Adding PDF's
To add a PDF to your account, navigate to your media panel by clicking on the Media button.
Then click the Add Media button near the top right of the interface.
On the pop-up box that appears, click the File Upload button.
A file selection box will appear. Either drag the file from your computer or use the Choose Files button to select it from your file system.
One you have done this, the name of your file will appear at the bottom.
Note: You can drop or select more than one file at once, and you can continue to add files to the box.
Once you have your files added, click the Start Upload button at the bottom right.
A message in green will appear letting you know the file(s) is uploaded.
Click the View Imported Items button to see the PDF and edit it's metadata in your media library.
The PDF or PDF's you just added should appear at the top of the list of media items.
It will be labeled as a PDF file type in the Type column.
Click on the item's ID, thumbnail or Name to open it for editing.
Once the file is open for editing, you can add metadata.
In almost all cases, its good practice to add a short and long description to all items by adding text to those fields.
You can also change the item's name by double clicking it at the top of the interface and typing a new name.
You can modify other metadata to the item, by scrolling down the page and adding to the fields.
Once you are finished adding metadata, click the Save button.
Notice that a full working preview of the PDF appears at the right.
You can also see a larger version of the full PDF by clicking on the Preview button on the left.
This will display the full PDF.
PDF's can be included for display anywhere that other media items can.

Displaying a PDF in a Page title
A common way a PDF will be displayed is as a visual item on a page with links to the full-sized version.
To do this, you'll need a Page Title to add it to.
If you don't have an existing Page Title, here's an overview of how to build one: Overview: Page Titles
If you do, or once you have built one, navigate to the Titles panel by clicking the Titles button on the left.
Find the Page you want to add the PDF to in the list, and click on it's ID, thumbnail or name to open it.
The item will open to the title's general tab. Click the Content button on the left.
A list of the Pages content will appear in the center panel.
Note: For detailed information about how to add and change a pages content using content blocks, see this document: Guide: Content Blocks
To add a block for your PDF, click the Add Block button.
Scroll down and find the Media block and click it.
This will display an interface allowing you to select the media item and set various display options.
First click the Choose Media button.
From the list that appears, find the PDF you want to include and click the checkbox to the left of the item.
Now find and click the Accept button at the upper right of the interface.
The item's details will appear in the Media area.
Note: If you ever want to delete the item from the block, you can use the trash can icon at the upper right of the item's details.
You can set which description, if any, you want to display beneath the item.
You can select the credit you'd like to appear beneath the item.
And you can select which size you'd like the PDF to appear on the page.
Note: You'll notice that the URL field is grayed out and not editable, as it's only available for images and ambient video media items.
When you are done editing, click the Save button at the upper right.
Click the Preview button on the left to see how the Page will appear with the item in it.
You can return to the content tab to experiment with the items block settings to vary the display.
Once you have it where you like it, the Page title can be included in a release to be published.
