All existing Google Analytics accounts (known as Universal Analytics) need to be updated to Google Analytics 4 accounts by July 1, 2023. Universal Analytics accounts will stop processing data on that date.

When switching a Universal Analytics Account (UA) to a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) account, Google issues a new tracking ID.
This ID needs to be updated in the MediaStorm Platform.
Steps to do that are outlined lower in the document.
How to tell if you have Universal Analytics or Google Analytics 4 account
If you have a Google Universal Analytics account, you've likely seen emails about this change from Google.
If you are unsure what type of Google Analytics account you have, here are some general guidelines:
- If you created your property before October 14, 2020, you're likely using a Universal Analytics property.
- If you created your property after October 14, 2020, you're likely using a Google Analytics 4 property already, and no action is required.
If you still aren't sure, Google has provided guide to figure it out: Check whether you have Universal Analytics or Google Analytics 4
Migrating from UA to GA4
If you have a Universal Analytics Account, Google has likely been emailing you with information about how to make this change.
For best results, follow the steps in that email to migrate your account.
If you have a Unified Analytics account and haven't been notified by Google, there will likely be a prominent link to a migration assistant displayed when you log into your account. You can follow that to create a Google Analytics 4 account.
Getting your Google Tag ID
In order to connect the MediaStorm Platform to your Google Analytics account, you'll need to find and copy your Google Tag ID from inside your Analytics account.
Here are directions from Google about how to locate it: Find your Google tag ID
Updating to GA4 in the MediaStorm Platform
Your global Google Analytics tracking code is set in the Platform via a field in your General Organization Settings tab.
This setting applies as a default for all releases created from the time it was set.
Click the Hamburger Menu icon at the top right of the Platform.
On the fly out that opens, find the General Settings link under the Organization Settings area.
At the bottom of the tab, find the Analytics ID field.
Paste your Google Analytics ID into the field and hit the SAVE button at the top right of the Platform interface.
After this is done, all future releases will send data to Google Analytics.
Updating existing Releases to GA4
Each Release contains a field for a distinct analytics tracking ID. This field is populated by default by the global setting outlined above.
While modifying the global General Setting applies to all new releases, old releases still carry what was in that setting when they were created -- possibly an old ID or left blank.
You can update old releases to GA4 either individually or in bulk.
Update a release individually
To update the analytics code for an individual release, open the release and find the Analytics ID field in the right column of the General Tab.
Hit the SAVE button.
Make sure to republish the release to make the change live.
Update releases in bulk
If you wish to update multiple or all your releases with the new code, it may be more efficient to do them all at once.
To do this, navigate to the Releases tab.
Use the checkboxes next to the Release items to select some or all of your releases.
Click the Actions button at the top right of the Platform interface, and then select Configure Analytics.
Add your GA tracking ID to the Analytics ID field and hit the Submit button.
This will add the ID to the selected releases, but to make the changes live, you need to republish them.
You can do this from the Actions tab while the same releases are selected.
Click the Actions button and then click Publish.
