First setup a Netlify account at https://www.netlify.com.
To connect your Netlify account with the MediaStorm Platform:
- Sign in to the MediaStorm Platform and visit the Integration Settings page at https://platform.mediastorm.com/settings/integrations/
- Click the button labeled "New Integration," and select "Netlify" from the list of services.
- Click "Connect Netlify Account." You will be redirected to Netlify, where you can follow the prompts to allow the Platform access to your account.
- Once complete, you will be redirected back to the Platform and prompted to configure some additional settings:
- Select a Netlify account to use with this integration: If your Netlify user is associated with multiple organizational accounts, select which one you wish to connect to the Platform. Most users will only have one option.
- Custom domain or website: If you wish to use a custom domain for your embeddable Player releases (for example, "player.mycompany.com"), enter it here. To use a custom domain, you will also need to configure a DNS record with your domain's DNS service provider. You may leave this field blank to use the default "netlify.com" URLs provided by Netlify.
- Click "Submit" to save the configuration settings.
Optional Step 2: Complete Custom Domain or website Configuration
If you entered a custom domain in the previous step, you will need to configure a DNS record with your domain's DNS service provider to direct the custom domain to your Netlify account. On the Platform's Integration Settings page, you will notice that the newly-created Netlify integration displays a red "error" icon.
Click the "edit" (pencil) icon to display the integration details window.
The error message text includes the information needed to configure your DNS record. Using your DNS provider's control panel, configure a CNAME record pointing your chosen custom domain to the target domain specified in the message, of the form "mediastorm-root-abcd.netlify.com," where "abcd" is a unique character string associated with your specific account.
The exact process for creating and modifying DNS records varies based on your DNS service provider. Help documents from some common providers are linked below. If your provider is not listed, contact their technical support channels for assistance. If you are not sure who your DNS provider is, the tips on this page may help.
Keep in mind that changes to DNS records can take 12-24 hours to propagate. If after 24 hours your Netlify integration still displays an error message, contact us at support@mediastorm.zendesk.com for assistance.
Your Netlify account is now connected. When publishing Releases, you will be able to select this account as the publish destination.
