What Is The Release Menu?
Every Release within the MediaStorm Toolset includes a configurable "menu" area. This are can provide contextual information to the added media and/or titles. This could include "about" text, a list of external resources or links, purchase info, videos, a pin map or anything else you wish to display as supporting information to the content of the Release.
The menu can contain any number of items that are located on the left side of the release.
It can contain basic external links that link to other websites on the web or Block types that open items on the Release's stage.
Different block types are used to display headings, text, media, and context-sensitive content pulled dynamically from the Title and Media objects that make up your Release.
Content Block types that are currently available:
- Heading - Heading text that uses standard HTML formatting
- Button - Button with link
- Text - Free-form text section with basic formatting options
- Dynamic Text - Text brought in from a field within a piece of media or title
- Embed - Embed Code area (iframe-based embeds only)
- Credits - Credits for the current active item
- Related Links - Links related to the current active item
- Publication Dates - Release published/updated dates
- Media - Media with optional description and credit
- Playlist - Playlist title
- Image Grid - Images in a grid layout with optional hyperlinks

How to Configure the Menu
- Select the Release
- click 'Menu' from the left toolbar
- Select "Add Menu Item" to add a new item to the menu.
- Complete the "Label" field—this text will appear as a clickable navigation link in the published Release's menu area.
To add a link, click the Link radio button beneath the Item Type label.
Then add the URL to the website in the Link URL field.

To add a Block, click the Page radio button beneath the Item Type label.
Then use the "Page Content" field to add content to the menu item. Page Content is constructed using the Platform's "Structured Content" builder. For details on each 'block type and how to use them, click here.
Conditional Display Rules
Both menu items and individual content blocks can be configured to display only when certain content within the Release is active. In other words, you can dynamically choose what content is shown and when. To enable this, set the toggle labeled "Display this menu item (or block) for:" to "Specific content only," then select the content items for which the menu item or block should be enabled.
For Menu
Set the toggle labeled "Display this menu item for" to "Specific content only," then select the content items for which the menu item should be enabled.
For Blocks
Set the toggle labeled "Display this block for" to "Specific content only," then select the content items for which the block should be enabled.
