In this section you will learn how to add Titles as well as the various metadata associated with your Project. Taking the time to complete the information in this section will help to make your Project more search friendly and will enhance the viewing experience for your audience.
Projects > View All
When logging in for the first time, the Dashboard will prompt you to upload media or create a new Project.
At first, you’ll notice the Projects section is blank. After creating your first Project, this page will serve as a current list of all your Projects (and Titles) in reverse chronological order. To return to this page at any time, click “Projects” in the left hand navigation.
To start a Project, click the "New Project" button. Editing your new Project is done via a 4-step process consisting of the following steps:
Project > General
This is your Project’s name and is used in the header of the player and throughout the Platform as a reference when selecting Titles.
This is the date you publish your Project.
Add & Order Titles
This is where you can add the Titles to your Project. You can think of Titles as chapters belonging to a common body of work. For example, the Trailer, Feature Presentation and Epilogue are all individual Titles belonging to a Project.
Titles are composed of a single video file (in the future Titles will support other media content such as Images, Slideshows and Interactives). To add a Title, click on the “Add new title” button. Next, add a Title Name and Choose the desired video.
Each Title you create will be added to the list of other Titles in this Project. You'll then need to select the titles you want to add to a playlist by clicking the checkbox next to each title. Once you've selected all the titles you want, click the 'Create Playlist with selection' button and give your new playlist a name. After saving your new playlist, you'll be redirected to your playlist settings page. Read more about editing playlists.
Project > Metadata
This information will be used to populate specific areas of the About Section in the Player's Menu. Adding this information to your Project improves search engine optimization as well as attributes the Project to those responsible for its creation.
The Brief is a shorter version of the Project's description and is used in various places when content from this Project is represented. It should be used as a summary of the Project using as few words as possible.
Use this to describe your Project in depth. This text will appear in the auto-generated 'About' section of the Player's Menu.
Project credits are a rollup of all the credits added to the Titles in this Project. They are automatically aggregated here after being authored in the Title’s metadata page. After you add credits to your Titles, you can rearrange the order in which they will appear in the Player. If you want to hide a specific credit from this rollup list, simply drag that credit into the “Disabled” section. Credits dragged to the disabled section will not display in the Player.
Rearranging the order of the credits or enabling/disabling them here will not affect the order of credits in each Title.
To edit or delete specific credits, you must be on that Title’s metadata page. Each credit slug links to the Title where it came from for easy access. In the example below, these credits are coming from a Title called "Feature Presentation."
Use this section to link to organizations affiliated with the production. After you add attribution for organizations, they will show up in the gray box labeled “Organizations” where you can then rearrange the order in which they will appear in the Player, edit or delete them.
The name of an organization or company that should be attributed to the Project.
Adding a Link URL for the Organization will make the Organization Name entered previously link to this URL.
Use this section to add links to relevant sites. After you add relevant links, they will show up in gray box labeled “Related Links” where you can then rearrange the order in which they will appear in the Player, as well as edit or delete them.
Enter the name of a web site or page.
URL for the name of the web site entered previously.
Use this section to list recognition for this Project, including awards, press, etc. After you add recognition items, they will show up in gray box labeled “Recognition” where you can then rearrange the order in which they will appear in the Player, as well as edit or delete them.
Enter the name of an award or article.
The year corresponding to this item of recognition.
The title or category for this Project's recognition.
The degree of priority awarded for this Project's recognition.
Adding a URL for this recognition will make the recognition name entered previously link to this URL.
Project > Images
The Project's Poster Image is used in various places to represent a Project.
Hi-Res Poster Image
High-resolution, uncompressed version of the Poster Image. Cut-downs will be created from this image as needed.
This image is used to represent the Project when shared to Vimeo, YouTube and other distribution networks.
The Project’s Poster animation is an optional field that displays an animated GIF or short video instead of the Poster Image where high-speed internet connection is available. On mobile and lower connections, the player defaults to displaying the poster image instead.
Hi-Res Poster Animation
High-resolution, uncompressed version of the Poster Animation.
Project > Merchandise
Like Project credits, Merchandise is also a rollup of all the purchase items added to the Titles in this Project. They are automatically aggregated here after being authored in the Title’s merchandise page. After you add purchase items to your Titles, you can rearrange the order in which they will appear in the Player. If you want to hide a specific item from this rollup list, simply drag that item into the “Disabled” section. Purchase Items dragged to the disabled section will not display in the Player.
Rearranging the order of the items or enabling/disabling them here will not affect the order of credits in each Title.
Deleting A Project
To delete a Project you must be in Project > View All mode. If you're not, select the “Projects” link in the left navigation. Next, in the Project Column, hover over the Project name and select the red Delete button. Confirm to continue.
